Until we can play Mortal Kombat’s newest installment, we still have a few months to wait. Thankfully, the Netherrealm Studios crew is keeping us entertained with regular updates regarding the cast members who will be engaged in combat in this new continuity. In the most recent trailer, it was shown that the Lin Kuei are more than just blue ninjas with ice swords.

In this scenario, Smoke is proven to be another member of the clan; therefore, you might argue that they even have grey areas. He no longer has his flowing grey hair, but it sure beats the colour-swapped appearance he and the other Mortal Kombat characters had in the pre-HD games, doesn’t it? In the same teaser, the clan questions whether they should just defend Earthrealm or take a more active role. Rain, who is now an Outworld Mage with hydrokinetic abilities, will also come into battle with them on their trip.

Hence, even though the new continuity officially saw the loss of one ninja, Kameo Fighters nevertheless provide a significant amount of ninja representation. As conflict with Sektor, Cyrax, Frost, and Classic Scorpion doing harm to opponents is presented to us.

We are reminded that “it’s in our blood” and that Mortal Kombat 1 will be released on September 19 for PC, Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The trailer ends with a jaw-dropping reveal.
